Viking Extrusions is a specialist manufacturer of silicone products based in Worthing, West Sussex. They provide silicone profiles, cords, and tubes for international aerospace, mass transit, and pharmaceutical customers.

Having built their website a few years prior, in early 2024, the team at Viking approached us about supporting this SEO strategy. While they had been managing it in-house, they were struggling to achieve any significant improvements in their ranking positions or traffic.

So, we set about creating a tailored SEO strategy to help improve their online presence, drive more qualified traffic to their website, and help them rank higher for relevant keywords in their industry.

Project goals for Viking Extrusions’ SEO strategy

With our SEO services, we always start by defining clear goals and targets that align with our client’s marketing goals and wider business growth objectives.

The initial key objectives set for Viking Extrusions’ SEO project were:

  • Reduce backlink toxicity from ‘high’ to ‘low’ and keep it there

Improving & maintaining Viking’s technical SEO health

To help the client reach these goals, we created a targeted, multi-faceted SEO strategy.
We started by addressing their website’s technical foundations and overall health, which over time had become bloated with code and had a messy page structure.

After conducting a full technical audit of their website and monitoring Google Search Console, we addressed various indexing issues, 404 errors, and other technical problems limiting Viking’s SEO performance.

Our SEO Specialists also worked to improve page loading speeds for desktop and mobile users, creating a better user experience and improving Core Web Vitals scores.

Optimising page structures & backlink health

Additionally, our Specialists have been focused on optimising product page copy, applying Schema markup across the website, and improving the URL structures and overall page hierarchy to make the website more accessible for users and search engines.

Our Specialists have also been focusing on improving Viking’s backlink profile and health, identifying toxic backlinks, removing them, and ensuring that only high-quality, relevant backlinks point to the Viking Extrusions website.

We’re now six months into Viking Extrusion’s SEO project, and the results have been very positive. While the project is ongoing, Viking Extrusions have already seen significant improvements across several areas.

Their keyword rankings have seen notable growth, particularly for their highest priority keyword, ‘inflatable seals,’ for which they now sit in the first position on Google.

Our routine technical audits and optimisations have helped Viking Extrusions improve and maintain their overall website and SEO health. They have seen big improvements in their Core Web Vitals performance, backlink health, and overall traffic quality and volume.
