Gamification may sound like a brilliant new video game, but it’s not. In fact, it’s a relatively recent (around 2010) and exciting concept, which aims to turn users of a service into players, providing more reason to continue or advance with a task. With this concept becoming more and more popular, gamification has been named one of the most important trends in technology by several industry experts.
The video above is a brilliant example of gamification, drivers are rewarded with the chance of winning money in return for driving under the speed limit. This experiment resulted in a 22% reduction in speed, which shows the effectiveness of turning a regular task into an interesting and satisfying game!
