If you haven’t heard by now, Google is working on a phone that can map out its environment in full 3D! From being able to play AR games from within your house such as virtual hide and seek, to assisting blind people with audio hints as to how to navigate through a room – this amazing technology is being used for recreation and for good.
The phone’s amazing sensors makes more than 250 million 3D measurements every second and use that data to build a 3D model of its surroundings. Check out the infographic below to find out more, and if you really want to see the power of this proiject, check out the video at the bottom of this post!

It’s worth noting that these aren’t available for the public yet, however, around 200 devs have them and have been working on advancing the project. Hopefully, this means we’ll be seeing this technology around very soon!
