5 ways to spring clean your social media

Your target audience is becoming more and more active on social media so keeping your social media presence active and engaged is now more important than ever.

Here are 5 simple tips to give your social media accounts a refresh.

  1. Be consistent with branding

Having the same branding across all of your profiles makes it much easier for people to recognise which profiles belong to your brand. It’s likely that you spent quite some time and money getting the perfect design for your logo and branding so it only makes sense to keep all of your online profiles cohesive with the most up to date version of your brand.

  1. Update outdated content

Remember that blog post or tweet you posted 6 months ago? Well, it’s outdated and the content is irrelevant, but that doesn’t mean that you should remove it. Giving an update on the content you have posted in the past shows that you are actively engaged with your industry which shows that you are knowledgeable and therefore likely to give a better service.

  1. Stay contactable

This one is pretty simple, but going through and making sure that you have the most up to date phone numbers and emails on your social profiles so that your clients can definitely contact you. The last thing you want is to be losing business simply because of a missing number.

  1. Protect your accounts

Make sure that you  remove any former employees who still have administrative privileges. Social media accounts have immense power when it comes to your brands image so be sure that your content can only be updated by people who you trust to protect your brand.

  1. Watch who you’re following

You would probably be surprised by the amount of people who will check to see the sort of people and brands you are following online. Your audience likes to know exactly who you are and what you are interested in so check to make sure that the people you are following are relevant to your business  interests and industry. Also just doing this for yourself to make sure that you’re only following relevant social profiles so that you won’t be missing important updates in amongst other content.
